Wildlife Conservation Utilizing Drones

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Patent Forecast®

July 30, 2020

Recently there have been several articles in the news of conservationists utilizing drones to aid their efforts in protecting wildlife, including this article about utilizing a drone to feed an endangered griffon vulture chick in Israel.  To go along with this trend, Hana Resources, Inc. was recently awarded a patent for a drone-enabled wildlife monitoring system.  Such systems enable conservationists and governmental entities to more accurately gauge wildlife populations, assess plant health, determine what species are in an area, detect algae blooms, and myriad other ways to assist in the conservation and management of wildlife.  With increasing pressure on wildlife species due to loss of habitat, climate change, and pollution, the use of drones is an important tool for protecting our natural world.
